intro tilted? legacy long lit short lit my lit faith images other

This is my personal website for friends, family and interested voyeurs. If you've stumbled into this page, or saw my email address and are tracking down where it came from, I've got an explanation of the meaning behind 'tiltedhalos'. Which is a good place to start.

Overall, the site is piecemeal right now and I haven't the foggiest idea how long it will take to update it. But as of early-2005, I'm trying to consciously schedule a little time each week to make changes. Just for my own sake, as a place for putting words and ideas that I want to be able to find again. So check back often. Life has been busy, but that's a good thing. Frankly, I'm always a little worried when I have too much time to play around on the internet--it means I'm probably neglecting something or someone far more important.

Several things are actually offline right now--the long lit, and much of my own writing--because I am reformatting most of the text on the site to make it easier to view and print. The only thing that has really been added to are the photo galleries. Pictures are up from my trip through the southwest with Jon and Shannon (May, 2005). I have a few pictures of the cake from our 9th Annual Groundhog Day Celebration (Feb. 2005), photos from my fall hiking trip to the Asheville, NC area with my friend Jason (09.02.04 to 09.07.04) and pictures from my little sister's wedding (01.04.04).

Ultimately, this site is here for me as a repository for stories, words and ideas that I find meaningful and significant. If something here ends up meaning something to you, then I would be glad to hear your thoughts.

On a tertiary level, this site is meant to explore themes of personal space and cocooning that are part of what I find fascinating about webspace. As Clifford Geertz writes, "...man is an animal suspended in webs of significance he himself has spun..."

So I see my role in this as that of a mockingbird, constructing my home from the bits of string and shiny things I gather in around me.
